Why Use The “Hand soldering”  Process?

Plug-ins generally refer to THT (Through Hole Technology), which is plated through-hole plug-in technology. Compared with the back-end of SMT patch processing technology, the THT process is generally equipped with peak welding, which can improve the welding efficiency and achieve mass production. The SMT and THT are machine welding (reflow soldering and wave soldering). But some electronic components are not resistant to high temperature, such as wire or non-plug LCD screen with solder joints, conventional can not be welded by machine, but must be welded by hand. In Ucreate SMT patch processing plant, when the number of plug-ins is very small, in order to help customers save the cost of specially made furnace treatment tools (“furnace” here refers to “wase soldering machine”), we can move the plug-in process to the rear welding process, and the rear welding will complete the operation manually.

Five reasons to hand soldering:

1,The components are not resistant to high temperature

Nowadays, lead-free technology is becoming more popular. Due to wave soldering, the temperature in the furnace is higher than the temperature of the lead. Therefore, some components without high temperature resistance cannot be welded by the wave soldering.

2, The components are too high

Wave soldering also has a limit on the height of components. If a component is too high, it will not pass wave soldering.

3, There are a small number of plug-ins on the side of the wave soldering.

In a circuit board, there will be some plug-ins on the side that has been wave soldered. If there are a small number of plug-ins, post-soldering processing can be used to improve efficiency.

4, Component plug-ins are close to the process edge

If the component plug-in position is close to the edge of the board, it will hit the assembly line, affecting normal welding.

5, Special components

For high-sensitivity components that have special requirements from customers, they cannot be soldered by wave soldering. Hand-soldering processing is a very important welding method in PCBA processing, which can make up for the shortcomings of wave soldering and improve welding efficiency.

Finally, after the hand-welding processing is completed, QA will conduct a comprehensive inspection to ensure that the product quality passes the standard.
